League of Latinx Educators (LLE)
The League of Latinx Educators is a community built to support and retain Latinx educators, celebrate Latinx cultural identity, and advocate for racial equity in our Minnesota schools in order to liberate our peoples from colonialism and systems of oppression.

History of League of Latinx Educators
The League of Latino Educators (LLE) was co-founded by Latinx teachers Braulio Carrasco, Soraya Valedón-López, Gisela Santiago, Juanita Ortiz, and Paula Cole in Minneapolis, MN in 2015. These teachers were working with Hispanic students and were concerned about the unique needs of being both a teacher and a Hispanic student in Minnesota.
It has since been revitalized in 2025 by Silvia Vasquez and Sylvia Perez as they work to confront the needs of Latinx Educators and Students in Minnesota. As we navigate such trying times, they are intentionally creating spaces where members celebrate their cultural identity, learn their rights, and better serve the young people in their schools. Your leaders are determined to create a forum that does not just focus on confronting hardship, but celebrates the strength and genius of Latinx Educators in Minnesota.

Your LLE Leaders!
